Local, Seasonal Produce + Executive Chef Grant Walter = Delicious Food!
If you’re looking for a restaurant that serves fresh, local food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that selectively showcases unique Tasmanian beer, wine, and ciders, look no further!
Come and take a seat at Rosedale Restaurant and prepare your taste buds for a farm-to-table experience. Our local executive chef Grant Walter has an inspired approach towards turning fresh produce into culinary delights that will satisfy your senses.
Grant’s cooking style is largely inspired by his Grandmothers, ‘Nanny Marse’ and ‘Nanny Jack’ who taught him how to cook at a young age using fresh meat and vegetables from their nearby family farms in Nicholls Rivulet and Lower Wattle Grove. This is where Grant’s ‘paddock-to-plate’ approach towards cooking originated, and is the reason why he is so passionate about cooking with fresh and local ingredients.
Grant learnt about his family’s Indigenous history from ‘Nanny Marse’, who encouraged him to be proud of who he is and where his family came from. As a proud Palawa man, Grant finds great pleasure and pride in sharing his Indigenous heritage and stories with younger generations.
Whether you are stopping by for a coffee and cake on your way to explore Port Arthur or looking for a cosy restaurant to take the family out for dinner, Rosedale Restaurant is the place for you.
